Camellias in Ballard

Spring seems to have come early here in Seattle.  Flowers are starting to bloom and gardens are coming back to life.  In my yard, the rhododendron, crocus and daffodils are about to pop and my hydrangea is just showing signs of life with it's tiny green leaves making an appearance.  There's nothing like spring in Seattle.  It's magnificent!  When sourcing flowers for Morgan + Moss, I've had a difficult time finding local growers.  I'm not opposed to using flowers from other areas of the country, but I'd prefer to stay as close to Seattle as possible.  I do this for a number of reasons.  I want to support my local economy, my neighbors, the mom and pop operations.  I want to know where my flowers are coming from and I want them to be natural. I prefer that my flowers or my "product" have as little interferance from engineers as possible.  They're not meant to last forever and are in our lives for a moment.  To celebrate, commemorate or enhance the beauty of a room.  I picked the most beautiful Camellias yesterday from a private garden in Olympic Manor here in Ballard.  The Camellias along with some Japanese Pieris (Lily of the Valley shrub) made a luscious arrangement for Valentine's Day.
